This past week two of our members were at the happiest place on earth, the Kiwanis International Convention at Walt Disney World!!
There, our two members represented our club as delegates and voted for the new international board of trustees and officers, considered bylaw amendments and resolutions, and attended informational sessions to bring back new and relevant information to our club. All along the way meeting Kiwanians from across the globe sharing one common goal - "Serving the Children of the World."
Our delegates heard from a marvelous guest speaker, Alex Sheen, who is the founder of the non-profit and social movement "Because I Said I Would" which is dedicated to the betterment of humanity through promises made and kept. His opening session key-note address was not only emotionally touching but incredibly inspirational! He created the Promise Card to inspire others to keep their promises, but the movement has grown into something far greater than its origin, now distributing over 9 million promise cards across the whole world.
On stage with the International President, Disney's Mickey & Minnie Mouse joined in on the convention fun.
The closing session ended with an update on the Eliminate Project, with Netflix magician Justin Willman, as the master of ceremonies.
